I didn't mention the reason the Living room in this house is small and odd shaped

is because it was not intended to be a living room.!!

It was intended to be a formal dining room, Serious! ..

Weird to come right in the front door to a dining room.

That is why there is still a chandelier type light still hanging from the ceiling in the room.

This is a picture of the Model home I know it is pretty bad. but all I have..

I think you're definitely on the better track w/ what you're doing. That does seem odd to place the dining area in the front. Does that mean that dinner guests only can come to the front & nowhere else? Weird.
