Is it wrong to love everyone equally?I'm just curious as to how people perceive love and its role in everyone's lives.
It's often said that you should only love people who deserve to be loved, and
I have often heard that you should love everyone without restriction.
I am an easy mark... I love easily..
Sometimes I get burnt by the ones I love.
I guess I often get hurt by those I have let into my life and come to love,
because I am quick to make emotional relationships.
I don't want to necessarily start a debate. I'd just like to hear people's opinions.

I love easily... not equally though. There are some people I love more than others. :)
I get why people guard their love (are slow to trust, slow to call someone friend) but I think they miss out on a lot.

I believe we should try to love everyone. Love isn't something you should have to earn. Trust and respect are things you have to earn. I believe that God is Love and if we want to be like him we should do our best to love His children.

Chelsea gave my version of a perfect answer. I think it's important to Love everyone, and to Love unconditionally. Trust and Respect are separate feelings and emotions, but they are also tied through Love. The more we love, the easier it is to get burned... but at the same time, the more we love, the easier it is to forgive those who burn us.

I guess it depends on how you define love. I am struggling with a version of this same question. Some people who are supposed to love me really don't--yet I have given them so much. In the end, I was wasting my resources and people who deserved more of my love weren't getting it. So, I've taken steps to rectify that---yet, it just doesn't feel right to not love people, you know?

I've been burned so much that it's hard to start over but I do believe that we were commanded in the scriptures to "love everyone as I have loved you". Do I do this? No. Am I working on it? Trying...

Loving unconditionally is hard. I've been hurt by many people and have built a wall around myself for protection. Those who care enough to knock down the wall and get to me have my love forever. There are some in my life who I try so very hard to love and it's like they test that love daily. I keep hoping one day they'll realize what they're doing and we can have a better relationship.
