Cherie from
Bakow Babble asked how I cook corn.. she said her husband likes it almost raw.. Not her, she likes it cooked like i do!!.
here is how i suggest cooking it..
~~ Cooking Corn on the Stovetop, i start with cold water.
Place the shucked corn in a large pot. Cover it with water. Cover the pot and set it on the stove. Bring the pot to a boil. Once the pot has reached a boil, the corn is cooked.
I looked up corn on the cob on google and this is what someone said about how long to cook corn.

Cooking Corn Do’s and Don’t’s:
How do I know when it’s cooked? Cook 5-7 min in boiling water.
Cooking times are general cooking times. Some people eat corn raw, and some dunk it in boiling water for 30 seconds to just heat it slightly. The simplest answer is to taste the corn to see if it cooked to your liking. Over-cooked corn does become really tough and it is also pretty rough on the digestive track!

That is a good way to do it. I usually boil my water first then throw the corn in. I will try it your way next time.
Corn shouldn't be so hard for me - ha ha :D
Thanks!

Cherie does ask some really good questions...LOL !
We had our corn on the cob on the grill the other day with seasoned vegies ( squashes, onions, peppers ) and it was too mushy for me and I didn't like the burn marks either...to each her own. I'll give your way a try next time...I like corn to crunch but be cooked fully too !

I follow the Betty Crocker method. Put it in cold, bring to a boil, boil for two then sit for ten. Oh and I add 1 Tbsp. each of sugar and lemon juice to the water. So yummy.
