i have been given great advice from  JOY FOR YOUR JOURNEY
               on turning 50
her advice was      "do to something you have never done before".
"That is a reminder that there is a lot of life still to be lived--and the good news is we are old enough to be wise enough to enjoy it!"

Joy For Your Journey has left a new comment:

"Now I am looking forward to reading all about the fifty fun and exciting things you are going to be doing this year."

i started this week reading an 2002 Ensign article by President Howard W. Hunter.
i have taken some excerpts from it.. this is where i will start for the first months of my 50th year.  thank you "JOY" for pushing me in the right direction. i also have a few FUN things planned for the next 3 months.  as i formulate them in my mind a bit more i will be back and report.

Pres. Hunter:
"mend a quarrel. Seek out a forgotten friend. Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write a letter. Give a soft answer. Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty in word and deed. Keep a promise. Forgo a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Apologize. Try to understand. Examine your demands on others. Think first of someone else. Be kind. Be gentle. Laugh a little more. Express your gratitude. Welcome a stranger. Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth. Speak your love and then speak it again.

President Hunter also shared this:
Give to your enemy forgiveness,
To your opponent tolerance,
To your friend your heart,
To all men charity, for the hands that help
are holier than lips that pray,
To every child a good example,
and to yourself—respect.
